Stops working after 30 days

I bought this to connect my IMAC to a second monitor. In the beginning it worked great. Was very glad I didn't have to pay the higher price of the Apple version. However, after less than 30 days, it just stopped working. I then gave in and bought the overpriced Apple version, which of course worked perfectly. You get what you pay for as they say.
