We bought this for my 11 and 4 year old boys. They love helping out in the kitchen and we wanted something age appropriate but functional. This knife set hits the mark. Knives are sharp (enough), strong, handles are good in the hand. The knives come in a weighted base which is great for storage. We also ordered gloves for our 4 year old to improve his "cutting" skills without panicking that he would cut his finger. They worked great and fit. They seem to be working a little less, but not drastically. I like that whole set of color coordinates. This would make a great gift for a junior chef!
