This tool is used to repair dented or out-of-round lens filter threads. They all have a universal standard thread pitch of 0.75mm (for sizes within the tooling range). However, the jaws of the tool have a pitch of 1.0mm, not 0.75mm. As a result, the jaws do not properly engage the thread being repaired, effectively causing further damage to the lens. Also, my unit arrived with loose parts due to poor assembly. The guide rods were not fully threaded into the fixed jaw and the set screws holding the ends of the rods in the nutplate were loose. The installer apparently put red thread sealant _on_the_top_ of the bolts anyway (and not on the threads themselves). The parts appear to be reasonably well made, but assembly and quality control are lacking. If they corrected the thread pitch of the jaws (a trivial machine adjustment) and spent a few more seconds getting the assembly right, this could be a great product. In this form, it causes additional damage to the lens that is even more difficult to repair. I do not recommend this.
