Good looking and very comfortable. Some small exterior features and details are great. D-rings and molle straps as well as small thumb loops hanging from the straps. However, it feels a little cheap from the inside. Otherwise it is a great combination of sports and school bag. The shoe compartment is great and fits in my size 11.5 men's sneakers. However, he does need a small zippered pocket in the inside pocket next to the pen holders, and he also definitely needs a key clip hanging inside. It's a lot of space and quite big, but I think people carry a lot more things with them these days than they did when I was in school. The two large external mesh pockets will hold a large water bottle/thermos and the other will hold an umbrella/wet raincoat.
