Review on Swivi Universal Foldable Viewfinder Magnification by Rene Putman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very satisfactory

Exactly what I was hoping for. X and Sigma LVF-01, it's better than both Perfect 3.0X worked well enough on my DP3 Merrill, but it was stuck to the LCD panel with an adhesive that lost its adhesion in the hot New Mexico sun. The Sigma LVF-01 works well but only fits the DPx Sigma Quattro series, is quite expensive and comes with a sun cap that dangles from a string (one of the problems with vision hoods is that when you're distracted you can Sunlight getting into your viewing lens, this could ruin your LCD.) Swivi is well made and suitable for most cameras (all sorts of adjustments including an extra high guide in case you're using a camera with a big battery grip). a very large eyecup (can be used with glasses), good diopter adjustment, and a shutter (no cap) to block direct sunlight. That's right, it's slightly larger than the Perfect 3.0X or LVF-01 because of the settings; This is not a problem for me as I use my Sigma Foveon DPx as a studio/field camera, on a tripod or in the studio with all-in-ones. The tripod quick-release plate can be mounted on the Swivi without any problems. I use a Manfrotto trigger plate. Note that other reviewers say you can use Swivi's own baseplate (part of the kit) directly with some other tripod heads. I am very satisfied and I regret not having purchased this item sooner than others I have tried.
