My wireless keyboard is a little over 1 year old. Everything was working great until my USB receiver got damaged while traveling in my carry-on on a business trip. I figured it would be an easy fix - just buy another receiver, but to my surprise Microsoft doesn't sell the USB separately and I have to buy the whole set again (keyboard, mouse and receiver). What a bang. It's not even about the money, it's about the fact that a perfect keyboard has to be thrown away and the plastic has to be recycled for no reason. I wouldn't give Microsoft the pleasure of repurchasing their product, so I bought the $40 Logitech MK540 instead. The keyboard is of much better quality and features Caps Lock, a palm rest, and 3 tilt positions. There is an orange merging star on the receiver so I'm hoping if it breaks I can only buy one merging USB stick again and not the whole set.
