Good build quality, poor responsiveness

I've always loved Microsoft products. I've had several wireless mice and they worked great, but this wireless keyboard and mouse combo is terribly slow in Microsoft Word. I have Windows 10 installed and no other wireless or Bluetooth devices are working. The quality of the buttons and mouse is very good, but the incessant lag despite installing the latest drivers and software for the product is very disappointing. Every few minutes you're typing and nothing happens on the screen, then the…

No thank you. what i was thinking.

My last 5 keyboards were Logitech so I decided to change them this time. Big mistake. Where do I even start? 1) The mouse practically did not work. Instead of an invisible laser like Logitech's, this one has a red light laser that will burn up battery power like crazy. 2) The keyboard doesn't even have an on/off switch, so if you want to clean or dust it you'll have to remove the battery. 3) There is no space between groups of function keys at the top, so if you want to find a specific key you…

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

I am very careful with my electronics, but the receiver has a tendency to detach from the USB housing. At first you get an intermittent signal, and after a few days it stops working at all. I think the problem is the size of the receiver. Many of the new ones are much smaller. The rest of the station wagon works well. Even though it's a Microsoft product, I use it on my Linux machine and it works fine. The special function keys also do what they should. Microsoft covered it under warranty by…

Don't lose or damage the USB receiver!

My wireless keyboard is a little over 1 year old. Everything was working great until my USB receiver got damaged while traveling in my carry-on on a business trip. I figured it would be an easy fix - just buy another receiver, but to my surprise Microsoft doesn't sell the USB separately and I have to buy the whole set again (keyboard, mouse and receiver). What a bang. It's not even about the money, it's about the fact that a perfect keyboard has to be thrown away and the plastic has to be…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I can't remember but something happened

Not much different than the previous 800 series as far as I can tell. The range isn't bad. Surprisingly good to play with. My only real complaint is that the half-height function keys are a bit annoying, especially if you use them regularly for gaming they can really get confusing. Otherwise, the price is definitely right and the battery life is quite long. The lag is negligible, I found playing FPS was actually pretty good, at least in single player mode. I can't comment on lag as a…

Great price and great performance with one huge defect

I love this keyboard and mouse combo. It is very inexpensive and works perfectly. I've had it for a little over a month and use it in combination with my laptop and desktop monitor and it's the best system I've ever had. The keys are soft and light-clicking, very easy to type, and very responsive. The mouse is precise and easy to use. A HUGE issue I had was that about a week after starting to use the mouse the battery cover popped out and the mouse stopped working. You'd think the lid would…

Solid connection, good size, light and durable - and inexpensive

I needed a replacement for a previous wireless keyboard and mouse that I had for about seven years and still worked great except the key broke, and unfortunately there is no way to easily replace this part. Needless to say I was very disappointed that I had to buy a replacement keyboard and mouse if the old one was still good if not for a broken key and I was at least happy to find these for a reasonable price of less than £20 Dollar. I'm not exactly sure what the difference will be between…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

I type all day at work, fast, about 125 wpm on a bad day. I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts, tab changes, and window transitions. The buttons have a good click for such a long profile. The mouse has a good enough resolution for basic gaming and graphic design and also offers fast loading times. The seamless installation on a Windows 10 laptop took only a few seconds. Simply insert the batteries, turn on the mouse, which controls power to the keyboard via the included connection (more on that…
