As a few other reviewers have mentioned, for reasons unknown, it doesn't stay up under the person I bought it for. They can't move that much on their own, but somehow the slightest movement will land them on their backs and the pillow will be thrown to the side. I think we'll go back to regular sleeping pillows to do the job of repositioning. Also, the cover fell apart at the seam after only a few uses (this pillow is not a heavy person using this pillow). A small easy to fix thing but I decided to put it there. The pillow itself is fairly firm, but not too hard (if you're worried about bedsores) or soft-soft. so the pillow stays where you put it.
