My dog has been on the spa for 4 years and he loves the food in general! I liked the ingredients and the fact that it was a small company led me to believe there was more emphasis on the food overall. I thought I was making the best choice for my dog. I ordered this last pack, my dog broke his nose right away. Logically, I know that when food is produced and sold in smaller batches as big brands, it makes sense to change the recipe a bit. My dog stopped enjoying the food completely but still ended up eating it where she normally wouldn't have it in a second. Within 3 days of opening this bag of food my dog started vomiting, had horribly bloody stools and was incredibly lethargic for a total of about 5 days (including recovery time from the vet). He wasn't even motivated by food, and this dog loves his food! We took him to the vet and after $300 and a battery of tests the vet determined he was responding to wellness too! We have since put my dog on a prescription diet and she is doing much better. I had a similar problem with my cat and the Wellness brand cat food. She developed a reaction to it after about 6 months, but based on her medical history it was difficult to determine if wellness was the cause. My bitch had no problems and really liked the food so we left it to her. I'm starting to think my cat's illness wasn't an accident!
