Review on Revolutionize Glove Performance with Magid's Lightweight Hyperon NitriX Technology by Walter Velasquez

Update (04/2020): downgrading from 5 to 3 stars; I accidentally ran the secateurs over the back of my index finger and the saw cut straight through. In comparison, according to the ANSI standard, A7 (A9 is the highest) should not be cut with a 4000 g blade (4 kg = 8.8 lb) moving 20 mm above the test surface. Summary: Tree clearing in progress, requires heavy duty cut resistant glove with extra grip on palms (for wet conditions). Discussion: In this review I will be comparing three different Revain gloves. Another locally purchased set is also included. The first and oldest set is a G&F 22600 which I bought in July 2017 (over 2 years old). They worked very well and only recently (last month) the coated palms started to peel off significantly. Looking for a replacement I came across two Magid offerings which I bought. I also noticed that ANSI changed their reduction rating from 1-5 to A1-A9. I decided to buy two of Magid's offerings, the first being a pair of A5s which I ordered in medium (which is my usual size). They were a bit too snug when I received them, so when I bought the A7 I went for the LARGE (which I sometimes wear with other gloves). I'll list individual likes and dislikes below: Pros (G&F 22600): Durable; good grip; cuffs close well; served 2 years. Disadvantages (G&F 22600): Slightly bulkier, less manoeuvrable. I usually wear MEDIUM but ordered XL and they fit just right. Pros (Magid A7): Durable; good grip; Cuffs close well. Cons (Magid A7): Slightly less mobility than A5 (expected). Advantages (Magid A5): good grip; the best dexterity of the three (easy to manipulate small nuts and bolts). Cons (Magid A5): Less cut protection than others (expected). largely proportional to the amount of rubber grip on the palms. So, like everything else, you need to pick up a glove for the task at hand.
