Mother of three sons here. My youngest son removed the rubber pads from almost all Xbox controllers as soon as they received them for Christmas. Everyone fought for a whole year because of the only "good" controller. I have purchased percussion stick grip covers that slide over the grips but they were too loose. They were very easy to install for mom with no prior knowledge. Came with the necessary screwdrivers and it was a lot easier than I expected.
