Review on Convertible laptop Microsoft Surface Book 3 13.5" i7 16/256Gb by Micha Jakubek ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is really good, I'm glad I purchased it.

With a beech for the second year, I drag daily to work, in the office I connect the surface dock. When buying, I fluctuated between 13.5 ”and 15” models, but for myself I concluded that it’s good that I didn’t take more, because even for 13.5 the laptop is not at all light, and with daily wear I want it lighter. I am not a designer / artist, the main task is office programs, autocad and project viewing, it does it perfectly. The WOW effect of removing the tablet was a couple of times, once when I disconnected it myself, the second time in front of friends, I did not find more special need for it, only the fact of realizing that this is possible. I found one of the main disadvantages for myself in the tablet that I have version 256 SSD and this is sorely lacking, so I bought a 1 Tb SD flash drive where I store all the working files, but at the same time the flash drive is inserted into the base with the keyboard, and if If you want to show the project on the tablet, then you need to copy it to the desktop. As a result, it's easier to open as is and not pull out the tablet. There is no question of 15.5 hours of battery life, this is all marketing, especially considering that Microsoft itself confirmed the problem of “leakage” of charge through the tablet even when it is turned off, it can easily gobble up 10% or more of the charge overnight (they promised to fix it with ates a year ago, nothing has changed. Another disadvantage is that the battery is killed by the constant use of the docking station, although it was stated that when using the docking station, the charge goes directly, and not through the battery - a lie. The power supply is heavy, so I charge on business trips via type-c, which I use for the phone too (much longer, but it’s convenient to carry with you). In general, an ambiguous device, on the one hand, a chic screen in quality, a decent build, nice materials and just an awesome keyboard, a powerful configuration with a margin (even when playing toys), on the other hand, it is quite heavy, the screen is small, there is not enough space on ssd, And as a separate tablet is doubtful. Well, the horse price tag, at least at the time of purchase.

Pros
  • - build quality; - screen; - powerful configuration (including a decent discrete graphics card); - comfortable keyboard (in my opinion one of the best!); - Windows Hello Face works fine (face recognition, analogue of face ID); - convenient magnetic port for charging or surface dock; - the ability to charge via type-c; - the ability to use as a tablet.
Cons
  • - weight; - did not fix the problem with the leaking charge even in the off state; - an inch of the display could easily be larger without increasing the size of the device, the frames are thick even at the time the device was released; - Price.
