DO NOT thread the cord through the lampshade.
Unless you plan on hanging this like a mere lightbulb, you should probably skip it. The cable cannot be passed through the hole in the lampshade, although it can be seen on the lampshade in the photos on this page. If that's the case, then there must be a different type of lampshade.
