These are perfect for my purpose, which is hidden inside a ceiling fan light housing that doesn't show the bulbs.These bulbs are very tiny, and therefore would look odd in an exposed bulb application.They are definitely noticeably brighter than the standard incandescent bulbs and three of these vs 3 of the old-school bulbs really helped.As far as longevity, that remains to be seen. Several people have noted that these bulbs have a short life. I would caution that you should not touch the glass on any bulb that runs this hot. Skin oils left on the glass will cause premature failure, so wear a disposable latex glove, or at least handle them with a paper towel as you install them.
