This amp worked surprisingly well for my boombox project. I run these with three 18650 lithium batteries which only deliver 12 volts when fully charged and after over 10 hours of playback at above average volume levels drop below 11 volts before the protection circuit shuts them off. Despite the low voltage, this amp delivers clear sound at all times. This amp and my speakers are very smooth so I didn't have to use the tone controls, but I did notice that when all were on there was some distortion. Leave them in the middle position and the volume can be cranked all the way. without pruning.
