I can refill the capsule without this tool but I have found I can get the job done much quicker using RECAPS. It is very well made, with just the right amount of weight and weight to ensure the instrument stays in place when refilling the capsule. Before using this tool, I had problems with coffee grounds spilling out due to capsule misalignment. The tool is well designed and every feature helps to improve the refilling process. I was struggling a few weeks between ordering a raw instrument or a box. with originality cover and sampler. I'm glad I saved money just by purchasing the tool. I don't see any added value in stomping as it's not recommended to stomp the ground too hard. I use a coffee spoon to tamp lightly and I think it turns out to be a great cup of coffee. Tamper can be useful for repacking espresso, but is not essential for repacking coffee.
