purchased the mouse from a sizable 3-letter chain with locations around the nation. The mouse's wire has no braid when you first open the box. I called technical support, and after typing in the serial number, they informed me that the most recent batches of mice don't have braids. Even though the material of the wire without a braid is better, when purchasing a mouse in this price range, you expect the existence of a braid, which appears to be an evidence of "elitism". What I didn't like was using Velcro to secure the wire in a folded form even though the wire's end is not attached to it and would fall off in the next few days. If the wire in the box is already fastened with regular plastic wire, what use is it to have it? The bases of the Mad Catz (r. A.t. 5) and Zalman zm gm 4 mouse (it's unfortunate that the latter is no longer for sale, it was quite useful in terms of weight and settings) are far better than the A4Tech Bloody, which rides on the mat with a "shorting" sound. but is sufficiently smooth and does not adhere. The top coating is nice to the touch and during extended usage, and it fits comfortably in the hand. I found the dual-band metal scroll to be practical and easy to adjust to.
