I did a lot of research before purchasing this machine. It's amazingly quiet. Looking at the construction I can see that this is a quality product that I found out was made in the USA (yay). I try not to buy anything from China. I probably paid a few bucks more, but guess what, they actually have tech support that they don't have in another country. It's been 2 weeks now, we've had some really hot days but I've been staying cool in my humble apartment. It is also one of the most energy efficient air conditioners on the market. Bottom line, I'm very happy with my purchase. I believe this is the largest device you can use without having to install a 240 volt line.
