We got this gate for our 10lb Shih Tzu and Bichon mix that we recently started to allow for more and more freedom, when we are at home and checking. These gates are very easy to outwit as the dog can simply push them with their nose and the gate moves thanks to the double-sided loops. We were able to make it more durable by zipping it to a sofa leg and hooking the other side to the baseboard with a hook and eye, but that pretty much defeats the purpose of a freestanding, easy-to-move sofa wherever you need it . Gates. I wish I could have just gotten a different pressure gate that is a lot cheaper. live and learn
