Brake and taillight assemblies, parts and accessories

Update 10/04/16 I should have updated this a long time ago but forgot. As for my gap issue, I flipped the light and the issue was resolved. There were no instructions with the purchase and the pictures on the Xprite website also showed the light upside down. I now have the lights 5 months old and they work great. Customer service goes above and beyond to make the customer happy.************************************ **** ***** ***************************************** ******** ********** ***** **************** I may be overly critical of this aftermarket product, especially for what I paid considering the alternative (JW speaker taillight) is $300. The lights were very easy to install (true plug and play) and didn't require pull-up resistors (to fix the hyperflare for the turn signal). During daytime braking (headlights off) only the outer LEDs are lit (see image 1) and I don't feel they are overly bright or noticeable. Although the brake lights aren't that noticeable during the day, there are 2 additional LEDs and a reflector on the side of the light, and those 2 little lights are very bright, but I don't know how well it sees the car behind me. that is during the day. It looks better at night when you have your headlights on (Fig. 2) and the whole panel lights up when you brake (Fig. 3). I want the entire panel to be lit even during the day. On fig. Figure 4 shows what it looks like when the headlights are on, the brake pedal is depressed and the car is in reverse. Which brings me to the reason I deducted a star. Let's just say my reverse lights were a lot brighter than the LED reverse lights. The reverse LEDs are so dim I thought for a second they weren't working. Another thing that cost this product a star is that I noticed a small gap between the top of the light and my jeep. Nothing noticeable unless you get very close, but big enough to make me worry about what might happen if I wash my Jeep or get caught in heavy rain. I plan on experimenting with the light and trying to adjust it and see if I can put a gasket in there. If so I will update this and add a star. I'm mostly happy with the light.

Pros
  • HIGH POWER CREE LED chip
Cons
  • Big and bulky
