EDIT: Canidae have doubled their prices from before. sadly at $5 per pound - much wiser and more economical to just feed my dog a home cooked meal with added vitamins. Kibbles at the end of the day are a convenient way to feed your dog, no matter how much of the "good" ingredient goes into a large processor to make the kibble you feed your dog. This process kills most of the nutrients in the original ingredients. Just think what it takes to keep these pieces sitting on a shelf for months without spoiling. At this price I don't see a need to buy this anymore. ----- The dog food advisor gave this food a 4.5 star rating for a reason. My picky puppy lover usually hates her pieces but she will tolerate this one and if she gets hungry she will eat it. compared to completely ignoring other types of chunks. In general, that's good. I think Blue Buffalo is totally overrated and to be honest I personally trust Canidae more after researching both companies. This is great value for the food you get. EDIT: 2018 - July 23rd. The price of this meal is almost 180% higher than what I used to pay for it. So while the quality of the food has stayed the same and I understand the prices vary depending on the ingredients etc. Nearly $4 per pound - I will not buy this product again at this price. There's just no value right now. I would recommend $4 per pound for what your dog eats - you could also cook your own food for your dog and it would cost less (or the same) and have a lot fewer preservatives in his food (choose dog supplements of course Da it is actually very difficult for humans to ensure their home cooked meals contain the proper nutrition a dog needs). So sad to see that they are doing this price increase with no explanation.
