Top too tight

I'm a 12 hour nurse and am looking for some serious compression stockings to keep my legs feeling good on late nights. While they feel nice on my calves like most compression stockings, the "non-slip band" cuts into my knee cavity at the top and causes excruciating pain. I can't even wear them for 10 minutes. And I ordered the largest size. Another disappointment. Honestly, why can't I find compression stockings like real TED stockings from hospitals that flare up? The compression should be enough to hold it!
