I haven't taken it to the beach yet, so I can't comment on wear resistance. I can say they are true to size. I assume they stretch a bit when wet. I bought them to wear for my kids in the Bahamas. This allows them to walk between the resorts and to the beach and water park without worrying about flip flops, water park briefs or hot sand on the beach. It's a great material and the colors are very bright and beautiful. My kids love each of their colors. The bottom is nice, supportive and durable, not too heavy to walk on and not too heavy to roll up and put in a bag. They seem to wash and dry easily. I can't wait to take them with me. I think they are absolutely worth buying!
