I am testing this portable speaker for college level field work. With the device plugged in for charging, I turned it on, plugged in the headset, and got a little feedback. Initially I thought it was a quality issue due to the low cost of the device, but when I unplugged the charging cable all the noise went away. moron. The device is easy to understand, use, and works great, although the strap is light and sucks. The belt can probably be fastened at the waist, but I prefer to throw it over my shoulder. This small speaker system is very affordable, lightweight, easy to carry, provides more than enough amplified sound for students to hear in the field, and has decent sound quality. I only wish the company would provide a semi-hard case to store the speaker, headset and cables in one convenient package. That being said, I bought a small semi-hard case (less than $8) for the Bose Soundlink Color II that has room for a speaker, a cable and charger compartment, and a mesh area on the lid to hold the headset. Fits perfectly, holds the kit together and keeps everything safe. Now that I've finished testing this system, I'll be buying more for our department's field kits. Not bad for <$55.00.
