Waterproof to me means it can be used outdoors and is advertised as a wall mount. I used it to hang a small, lightweight solar lantern from my two-strip vinyl backyard fence. It seemed strong and held up well once attached, but two days later the light was on the floor. One side of the tape was still attached to the fence and the other side to the light. So apparently sticky adhesion is strong, but velcro adhesion is not. I tried reattaching it, making sure the velcro stuck well, but the next morning the light came back to the bottom. Disappointing!
