Despite the good reviews, my intuition told me not to take this one. My intuition was correct. I really liked the look of the iron and I think it played a bigger role than I would like to believe when purchasing it. I liked the Rowenta I had many years ago but have since gone the cheap route. In the end I decided to bite the bullet and look forward to a new one. When I first took it out of the box it felt a bit bulky and I just didn't like the balance but I thought maybe it's because it's a new feel and I was hoping I could get used to that get used to. That. But I just didn't see it, and maybe that's a totally subjective thing. It just didn't delete "WITH ME". I think it actually weighs too much towards the front of the iron and this was confirmed after replacing it with the Rowenta DW 5080 Focus (MUCH better and suitably balanced!). I'm not an iron expert and some people may prefer balancing. Anyway, another downside for me is the big, cheap chrome-plastic vapor boost lever, which is, um, cheap. This worried me because it seemed like it could break at any moment. The lever didn't bother me, except visually, but it's just confusing (for what it's worth). Finally, and I think most importantly, the ironing features were completely nondescript. My cheap hardware was "almost" better. I understand that steam is supposed to work more effectively with this model, but to be honest it's not that good for smoothing out wrinkles (especially compared to my new Rowenta Focus). Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I changed it to Rowenta DW 5080 Focus, which arrived today. As soon as I pulled it out of the box, I realized I had hit the mark this time. Any problems I had with the Eco were solved with the Focus and I'm a bit taken aback by all the good reviews for the DW6080. Focus reminds me of my old Roventa. It's durable, with good ergonomics, well balanced, better vaporization and just works better! Really enjoyed ironing tonight lol! I'm very excited (fingers crossed)! I'll be reviewing the Rowenta DW 5080 Focus after using it for a while (oh, and the Focus costs less to download!). TO UPDATE. After a few weeks of using the Focus, the only thing that bothers me is the sheer volume of vapor (rapid water consumption). ) which you can't customize, although there is a customizer lol. But I think I'm going to the woods now, and my goodness, this stuff really smoothes out the wrinkles!
