Review on Kaito Bluetooth Emergency Powered Recorder by Ryan Arthur

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good emergency/NOAA radio with additional features.

There is a lot going on with this radio. They recommend keeping the manual and after working with it I understand why; The basic functions of power, AM/FM and NOAA (WB button) are simple enough, but otherwise the manual helps. The sound is better than I expected (the way it is) and it picks up stations well. I'm always skeptical about tuning buttons, but you can also use snaps. The manual says you can use the buttons to adjust the volume, but I don't get the icons reflected in the manual, so I don't know about it. A charger with a handle feels solid, but the handle could be stronger - something to keep in mind when turning to charge. But it comes with a USB charger, so you only need the grip when you're out of power. I haven't tried listening to the radio on the solar panel, but the manual says it's possible; I think that's a big plus and the solar panel was one of the reasons I bought it. It also says you can charge the battery using the solar panel, but it will be very slow. So the solar panel is primarily designed to play the radio without battery, which is something to remember. I'd rather use a standard battery, which would be my only real downside. The flashlight could be stronger. All in all I'm satisfied and glad I bought it.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Low repairability

Operation is counter-intuitive

Do NOT buy this radio if you need any type of AM reception.
