My son loves this plane! It flies fantastic - you just have to press it at the right angle. If it starts to wobble in a curved arc, just grab it and slide it back. Once he flies in the right circle he does it himself. It flies fast and powerful and yes it takes all the space it says on the instructions three feet if I remember correctly. My son has a small room and a ceiling fan in the middle, so it took trial and error to find a suitable spot in the corner of the room. Well built and solid, ours scratched the wall a few times while practicing orbit but no damage occurred. Tip: Don't use screws to attach the hook to the ceiling - we used 3M tape designed for hanging 8lb pictures. And you need to use the hook that comes with the kit when the ceiling mount rotates and lets the plane fly in the right orbit.
