Review on LEDENET 18LEDs Aquarium Strip Light by Cassandra Lau

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not "dinner " bright or "super " bright. Maybe just "bright " like.

So you found this on Revain and now you're wondering. So here's the kicker - they're not bright like Dinner, nor are they super bright. Maybe just "slightly", well, sort of. This stripe is really blue. Probably in the mid light blue region and not the dark blue actinic region at 455nm. I think the component used here is a cut length from a roll of 5050 size LED strip - you know, stuff that wraps around a plastic wheel, you cut cut it to length and tape it to the trunk with a noisy, annoying muffler and a ridiculous "fender"? Yes, this thing. Anyway, it claims it's IP65 waterproof, but I don't know...I doubt it. It has a nice aluminum body with cooling fins but barely gets warm when running 12v at 100%. The strip also has a clear silicone lens over the LEDs but there are holes in the ends and I think the strip could get salt water . You can easily daisy chain these strips back-to-back with DC connector sets on either end. In addition, the back of the tape is pre-wrapped with double-sided mounting tape with the "3M" logo. There are also end caps with screw holes. I bought these to add more blue light to my son's Fluval Spec-V Nano Reef. They do it normally so I can't hit them too hard. When you get them, just don't expect the blue light intensity of arc welding. They are a good supplemental light.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Mostly good but...
