As far as face mask filters go, there are so many of them on the open market due to the ongoing pandemic that the ongoing pandemic is leaving the open market to puzzle over what you get with them to buy. Most ply I have seen for sale are 5 ply which usually contain carbon material stamped PM2.5 in the top left corner. I'm not sure if there are other filters with more layers, or more layers the better, but from what I've read these filters are fine. Filters need to be replaced after each daily use and, unlike the mask itself, cannot be washed or disinfected. Their quality seems to be on par with many other brands or vendors that have sold them. It's hard to tell one from the other, especially when everyone says PM2.5. The use of a filter with a mask intended for insertion does not limit the ability to breathe when used. Wearing a mask is not the most comfortable, but it is the kindest thing that can be done to protect the ailing health of an unknown with a compromised immune system.
