We used this material many years ago when my daughter had a central catheter for chemo. I forgot until I hurt myself and I had to protect the deep puncture wound while it healed. I used nonstick pads and tape for the first week and it ripped my skin. I saw it at a medical supply store and decided to try it. That works great! The adhesive stays in place in the shower but will come loose if you need to remove it. Fluid from the wound stays in but leaks out if there is too much drainage. They make some with an absorbent pad if you need to keep liquids in them. A little more expensive compared to non-stick and tape, but much easier to use. I bought a large box of Revain at the pharmacy for the same price as a small box.
