No problem with the 90 degree bend connections in your light strip. Small clip doors are quite difficult to open since they are so small, but that is down to territory as the piece is inherently tiny. Once open, simply slide the glowing ribbon under the small metal tabs and close the latch. Just pay attention to the polarity of the contacts on the bar. Whatever contact is on the outside of the bend on one side, it must be on the outside of the bend on the other side. If you get this wrong the extension pole will not work and you will have to open the clamp and connect it to the other end of the extension pole instead.
