I have a street lamp that has a very small area for a lightbulb. This bulb fits and costs a fraction of a light store bulb. The lamp is located on the photo sensor, so it is used about 12 hours a day. I don't know what the designer of the lamp was thinking, but the bulb is difficult to remove. The widespread use of the lightbulb and the difficulty in pulling it out necessitates a long-life lightbulb with a lifespan of 18 months to 2 years. This bulb fits the fixture, gives enough light, lasts a reasonable amount of time and is reasonably priced. So the lamp is perfect for me.
