This monitor stand is strong, durable and of excellent quality. Every component looks like it fell off a tractor - and I mean as much as possible. Yes, it's quite expensive, but as the saying goes, expensive is only expensive once. Cheap is always expensive. I can't imagine ever needing a replacement for this beast. I use a stand with three identical 23.8" monitors. This is my first foray into multiple monitors and I'm loving it. I do a lot of writing and researching different sources, and the ability to sort things and see everything at once, has increased my productivity quite a bit and increased my fun tremendously. And the games - oh those great immersive games! Playing Skyrim or Arkham Knight on three monitors at 5760 x 1080 is an amazing experience. As other reviewers have pointed out, it lasts takes a while to get things right, especially if you really want to get things right.I'm a bit of an ergonomics freak and literally used the angle rule to make sure the two side monitors were set at the same angle with the center monitor. It took about an hour to get everything to your liking, I then wanted to increase the height of the entire rig, what a required another hour of fine-tuning (it's pretty much impossible to increase the height of the entire rig without first removing all the monitors; see my only complaint below). So be prepared to spend some time for the initial setup; but once it's right, it's right forever. Or at least until you start moving. Telescoping wings offer some flexibility in monitor placement: the more even your three monitors are, the less you need to extend the wings and vice versa. To ensure an immersive experience, I pulled the entire rig in fairly close and my side monitors are slightly tilted (35Β° off-plane in case anyone is interested (like I said, the angle rule)). To make that pretty sharp angle, I lengthened the wings about 2/3 of the way. The additional expansion also gives me room to grow, although I can't imagine needing more. Anyway, the side monitors take up every arc second of my peripheral vision. Adjusting the height of the wing attachment points allows for perfect alignment of the side monitors, which is especially handy if you're using different sized monitors (although I'd definitely recommend making them all the same). The flat base that the monitor column attaches to is a beast, but it should support everything this stand was designed for. Because it's flat, I can easily place anything on it (USB hubs, etc.) so I don't feel like I lost any part of my desktop. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is the difficulty in increasing the height of the entire rig. The entire shebang attaches to the center column with a locking ring. Unlike wing mounts, which can be easily adjusted by turning a knob, the only way to adjust the height of the center monitor (and therefore the height of all monitors) is to remove the monitors from the arms so they don't hang heavily . Unlatch the collar, move the collar up or down (not a very easy task), latch the collar again, reattach the monitors, and take the time to put the side monitors back to the angles you want, always postponed at some point. point in progress. A column with a gear and crank (similar to how a drill table works) would be fantastic but would certainly increase the cost of the stand significantly. Still, a solid five-star investment in your computing environment.
