Bought these a while ago and just found time to install them on the fence. There is a factory link in the middle of the string that is VERY weak (read other negative reviews). Slightly tugging on the thread to smooth it loosened the connection and now the light doesn't work. Very dissatisfied. **Upgraded** from 1 to 3 stars so I was determined to try and fix it. I was able to use a multimeter to identify the wires and a soldering iron to reconnect the two previously broken sections. After sealing the joint with hot glue and shrink wrap I was able to get it working again. My wife loves them and will be buying them again for the rest of my pool fencing to ensure both sides have the same light output/color temperature. In work they are very pleasant, but of course they have some weaknesses. Also, the remote will not work more than 6 feet from the control box next to the plug. If you decide to buy, be careful in unwinding and packing to avoid breaking it at the factory hinge.
