DON'T BUY NOT BE LIKE ME

5/6/2020: Well, they screwed up again. Made in China, matte packaging label, so much oil that the bluing dissolves. There have been a lot of near-surgical blades out there for the past few months, but today they seem to be making and supplying fakes again. I don't know what else to call these blades, I mean I really feel ripped off. I use these hundreds of packs at a rate of about one a month. I have bought many X-Acto blades in my life. I'm putting a date on this review so I can add it later because the last pack I bought (today) is awful, as bad as the worst I've ever received from Revain. Over the past five years, quality has been fairly inconsistent, ranging from "made on Friday” to "clearly fake”. Good local art shops went out of business importing fakes and turned a blind eye when sellers flooded the market with fakes. Almost nothing on this site is real and we just accept it. After Elmers sold the X-Acto brand, there was a glimpse of sunlight on the horizon - within a few months the quality really improved! Today I have to report with disappointment that they have started producing garbage again. The tips bend quickly, too quickly, like the moment they hit the paper. The edge of the blade becomes blunt within a few minutes. Forget using them to clean edges and cast burrs on plastic parts. God forbid you need to edge some aluminum castings or other soft metals, they barely cut oil without losing their sharpness. Madness and sadness, I hate it.
