Review on Coaching Cat Scratcher: Premium Cardboard Cat Scratch Pad with Durable Reversible Design and Multiple Scratch Textures for Ultimate Cat Scratching Experience by Aaron Rosengren

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not entirely satisfied

I ordered two of these to replace a pair of worn out scratch pads. I looked at several different versions and after reading their description I decided to buy one. One of the things I don't like about the old ones I have is that when they are in use there are little pieces of cardboard scattered on the floor around the box. The description said they don't tear that much so that was my final selling point. When they arrived I was sad to see that they weren't the same size as the ones I usually buy. They are shorter and narrower than the size I get. My family calls thin cat trees "single width" and tall "double width" because they needed double width for their cats so they don't hang over the edge. I believe you have multiple sizes to choose from. So when you buy them, make sure you choose the right size for your cat. The cardboard is really strong and I like how they are angled so cats can scratch the slope when they are little cats. My cats have to put their hind paws on the ground to scratch with their front paws. Either that, or they lie on top of the scraper and scrape less effectively. What made me give them only 3 stars is the mess around the scrapers. I constantly have to vacuum up small pieces of cardboard before they are taken away elsewhere in my house. I ordered them at the end of June and they are already making a mess. I'm willing to toss them in the bin outside and buy 2 double wide SmartyKat cat scratching posts. They come with catnip, but this one doesn't.
