If possible, don't miss out on the following items from the product list: 1) Requires assembly 2) Has a base with no pre-drilled holes to screw on. 3) Supplied without bulb. If it was a $10 lamp or so, I'd probably agree with the crappy instructions (e.g. fact that the "frame" mounting is loose and offset and generally looks cheap. The lamp joints are also Chinese (maybe Japanese ?) lettering engraved Great steampunk looks old but sturdy This looks like it was assembled from spare parts Goodwill my biggest gripe is the lack of pre-drilled holes in the base If I wanted to build my own lamp I would that no pre-drilled holes means the final assembly is actually a design and not an assembly, so instead of putting screw A in hole B I should try to align the lamp with the center of the block and then try to drive the screws into the wood to hold the position of that wobbly lamp frame while you try to drive it in. Screws straight up and down.I wanted just slap the lamp on the table, plug it in and screw in the bulb. Now I have to decide whether to spend my time assembling the lamp or repacking the parts and figuring out how to ship it back. Neither is really worth it, but at $25, not $10, or even $13.95, I'm writing a review to express my displeasure.
