I bought this to replace my previous manufacturer which had a clip that broke and gave me some other problems due to wear. Aside from the clip which is good, when this manufacturer was brand new it was worse than my crappy old one. First, the rolls were slightly non-parallel; not enough to be easily noticed, but enough for the dough to stick together at one end, making it almost impossible to get a clean sheet of pasta and causing the dough to end up in inaccessible places in the machine. When dry, the manufacturer crackles like a maraca. There is also the problem that the rollers rub and form tiny metal flakes that occasionally stain the paste with gray streaks. The thickness dial feels very cheap and doesn't open wide enough for the first pass like my previous manufacturer. I think you get what you pay for. I will give this to a thrift store and buy a better one as pasta is meant to be interesting not disappointing.
