For almost a year, I had a serious disagreement with Time Warner, which increased the monthly modem rental from $3.99 to $5.99 in 2012-2013. I never thought I could save so much money on rent by buying it. If you call Time Warner they will give you a list of expensive modems, while I have had this exact model from Time Warner for the last few years. I hooked mine up and then told my friends about it. They also bought the idea, now they also save on the modem rental. I'm sure more of my friends will get their modems back in the near future.
