Beautiful cocktail dress priced at

I was in dire need of a vintage style cocktail dress for a theme party and didn't want to spend too much money if I only wear the dress once. This dress turned out to be good enough that I'll probably wear it again, although I'll have to make some adjustments before then. Quality: 3.5 stars. I feel like I got more than what I paid for. The fabric is heavier than I expected so it drapes well, has good stretch and feels, which I like. As mentioned in another review, there is no lining so I'd recommend wearing a jumpsuit or shapewear if you're concerned about flowing lines. All stitching is finished, but most are plain stitched, meaning I wasn't surprised to see a few threads sticking out. Capelet is beautifully built. I washed the dress and cape cold/gentle and hung to dry and it showed no signs of wear. Size: 4 stars. At 5ft 8in and a size 41-36-47, that sits between XL and L on the size chart for me. I ordered both and ended up going for the L because the fabric is stretchy. Fit 5 stars but a few design details took a star off. The dress was about an inch longer than my standard crinoline below the knee so I pinned the dress to allow the pop of color to peek out from under the skirt the way I wanted it at the waist, to shorten the overall length. There were also problems with the straps as the outer straps kept falling off. I temporarily solved this problem by gluing them to a small strip of tape that I wore over the dress. Shoulders. The tape also helped prevent the cloak from twisting every time I raised my arms. Style: 5 stars. I received many compliments on this dress. It easily accessorizes (I added a red fascinator, belt, gloves, crinoline and flared shoes to accentuate my curves and the cape hid my issues over each shoulder. It definitely needs a crinoline underneath to to get some fullness underneath.I was able to wear my regular strapless bra and I had no problem with it sticking out while dancing.Overall I would wear this dress again. This is a solid buy for the price underneath to be visible, and a bandage is a quick fix for slippery straps and a tortuous raincoat.
