Won't leave clean edges on thick paper

The photo shows card stock with the left side cut off and the bottom cut made with this paper cutter. The top cut is an example made with scissors. This trimmer leaves the edges raised. It is also stated that it can cut 12 pages (standard thickness). But moving 2 photos printed on Shutterfly (i.e. thin for photo paper) was difficult. I didn't think that equated to more than 6 sheets of paper. It cut through it, it just took more effort than I expected. If you're cutting standard paper you won't have any problems and this product should work just fine for you. However, it is not suitable for cardboard or photos.

Doesn’t cut all the way through on first try. Leaves jagged edges,so paper isn’t even.
