I have never used shaving oil but decided to try. I'm glad I did. I bring a small hot towel to my face, squeeze the pump, spread the oil on my palms (it's not much), and rub. Now the smell won't go away. I don't do anything to shave better, but I love the scent (and I usually hate smells!). I like it. Next, I add shaving cream (I use foam, not gel, canned). And I shave with a closed comb (one blade) safety razor. I credit the fact that my face doesn't scratch after shaving (I know I'm pushing too hard, I always shave and I can't break it). habit) to this oil.
