Although the container is beautiful and has a good finish, this product is not flat on the top or bottom. When I cleaned it for the first time and put it on the counter, I noticed that it wobbled a bit. I thought I put it on an uneven surface, I moved it to other flat surfaces and it still wobbled. If you run your finger along the bottom, you can actually feel the bevel. Thinking the first one I got was a one time use I requested a replacement which I received 2 days later. Same thing so will be returning it for a refund and I'll look for another container. While the outside has been polished well, the inside of the container has more of a chiseled/matte finish so it's not exactly smooth. Think of it as a smoother version of the grinding surface of a mortar and pestle.
