This small device simplifies the installation of the DVR. Instead of a USB power cable dangling down the middle of the windshield from the rearview mirror area to the center console, you can route it under the headliner and pillar hill to the fuse box. You must purchase a fuse that matches the connector you are using in the fuse box. If you want the DVR to turn on when you turn on the car, you can find an extra fuse. If you want the dashcam to turn on while driving, find a fuse that is always on (may drain your car battery). Pruveeo's customer service/responsiveness was excellent.
