Actual measurements show it doesn't work with my water

Doesn't work with my water. According to the instructions and a call to Berkley, free chlorine reduction can be affected by the presence of chloramines in your water. My community (Sarasota, Florida) uses chloramines and the filter does not reduce chlorine at all. Before the filtering on 08/31/15, my water measured 2.0 ppm free chlorine and 5.5 ppm chloramines. After passing through the KDSF shower filter, the free chlorine content was 2.0 ppm and the chloramine content was 3.5 ppm. Measurements were taken using the Taylor K2006 FAS-DPD Water Test Kit. I recommend checking the water company's website for chloramine levels before ordering. Because of cost savings and EPA regulations, more and more water utilities are using chloramines. Chloramine is a combination of chlorine and ammonia. It is more stable than chlorine and therefore stays in the water longer. Byproducts of chlorine and chloramine disinfection can be toxic and carcinogenic.
