I wore this hat on a windy New York winter day and felt the wind whipping through the hat against my ear. I had to touch my ear to make sure it was covered and it was. It feels like I have no cover at all. This does not work for me. I also usually tie a small bun with my hair and the unkempt effect completely disappears. Imo this beanie is for a nice fall day when you have your hair down (or short hair) and don't need to warm your ears.
