Weak Clasp best in my review

A few days after getting this leash my 60 pound muscular dog snapped the clasp off the end after lunging with only about two or three feet of slack in the rope while tethered. The 8mm rope is quite strong but the wimpy aluminum clasp isn't up to the job. Rather than returning the leash I installed a sturdy stainless steel lobster clasp and now I have confidence that it will hold my dog. I don't believe that the failure was due to a defective clasp, but instead the button at the end of the part that attaches to the dog pulled through the hole in the part that attaches to the leash because the button is too small and the metal is too weak. As can be seen in the photo of the stainless steel replacement clasp the button is much larger and the metal is much stronger, and quite a bit of force would be needed to separate the two parts. The aluminum clasp might be fine for less powerful dogs that don't lunge but strong dog owners should beware.

Pros
  • Muy buena pero es muy amplia la argolla de agarre
Cons
  • The leash may be too long for some indoor spaces
