Overall this is a great hood; it is very quiet and really OUTSIDE! (*smile*). I find it a little pricey for what it is and the features you get (no auto cleaning etc) but the quality compared to cheaper models is immediately noticeable. I bought this hood to replace my microwave. Unit with 10" rear rectangular air duct. This is one of the few vents that uses a rectangular duct that I've found to perform well. The back panel should be perfectly aligned and sealed, but the template and instructions were detailed enough for the installation .buy
