We bought this unit because in our existing four phone Panasonic KX-TGF540 system a phone headset port failed and a base station stopped charging after several years. We used a store bought phone to replace a phone with a faulty headset port in the base unit and a store bought base to replace a faulty base (which appears to have failed because we unknowingly spilled some liquid on it that didn't cleaned). Both devices have been working flawlessly for a few weeks. We removed the faulty base unit and used only the phone with the faulty headset port as the float, the fifth phone in a four-base system. To keep it charged, we alternate the fifth phone with another phone on one of the charging stations every few days. We kept our Panasonic manuals but we were able to program the phone we bought into our system using the instructions provided by the seller which I thought were accurate and well written. The item arrived on time and well packaged. Product description and compatibility were as advertised.
